What are we learning in 8th grade science?
This year's 8th grade classes will be learning about Physics, Chemistry Astronomy, Evolution, and Human Impacts on the Environment. In accordance with the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards), Santa Fe's science department is transitioning to the California Preferred Integrated Model of curriculum. What does that mean? That means that instead of segregated disciplines of study in each grade level, each grade will reference and build upon the knowledge they have learned in previous years, to build an ongoing understanding and deepening of science concepts and to explore using science and engineering practices.
